並列構造を簡単に説明すると、同じレベルのものを並べる規則のようなものです。

例えば、「りんごとみかんとバナナ」のように、同じ果物のカテゴリーで並べますよね。 「りんごと甘くて美味しい」とは言わないように、英語でも同じ種類・同じ形のものを並列させる必要があるんです。

この規則を守ることで、文章が読みやすく、意味が明確になります。

並列構造は、Part5全30問中、平均6-8問出題されています。 つまり、**約25%**を占める最重要問題タイプなんです。

出題される文脈も決まっていて、主に以下のような場面で登場します。

• 商品・サービス特徴：全体の30%
• 手順・プロセス説明：全体の20%

並列構造の3つの一致原則

原則1：品詞の一致

同じ品詞同士を並列させる必要があります。

ステップ1：接続詞を特定

文中のand/or/butを見つけます。

→ andがあるので、enthusiasticと同じ形の語を探す

ステップ2：既存要素の品詞・形を確認

接続詞の前の要素の品詞・形を特定します。

We need to plan _____ execute the project.
→ planは不定詞（to plan）なので、後も不定詞

ステップ3：選択肢から適切な形を選択

同じ品詞・同じ形の選択肢を選びます。
